潮州藉贯为主。吉胆岛可由巴生港口出发, 离开港口的西海岸大约有十公里。在二十多年前,这岛屿曾是沼泽地带, 并缺乏居住物。然而过后却有一般华人移民到此定

Pulau Ketam, literally translated, means "crab island". It is a small island located off the coast of Klang, mainly occupied by Malaysian Chinese. Most of the residents in Pulau Ketam are fishermen. 90 % of the residents here are Chinese who mainly speak Hokkien and Teowchew. The island lies at about 10 km from the west of Port Klang, and is easily accessible from the Port. Over twenty years ago, Pulau Ketam was a marsh land that was devoid of habitation. However, some Chinese immigrants landed on the shore and decided to call it home.
