The neighbouring fishing village of Bagan Panchor has a history of more than 100 years, with populations of more than 1,000 deriving from 160 families, of which more than 90% villagers are Hokkiens.
The young people will leave the town for further education and employment, as such the villagers will have to employ foreign workers for labour.
By now, the number of foreign workers is close to that of the locals.
